@J personally I have stopped using this script and now use the one from http://code.google.com/p/fill-mythvideo-metadata/ - it's far superior.

another thing I'm noticing now after using this script for a while. if you try to d/l the poster of a movie not on http://www.impawards.com it throws an error, and downloads a crappy resolution from imdb. anyway to just skip the error? and/or d/l a higher res from imdb?

is there a way to select which poster it grabs from http://www.impawards.com?
they have some really nice posters, but it always just grabs the first on listed, some movies have multiple posters and sometimes i want a different looking one. thanks for the great tweak tho!
I love it!

@ Thomas it should still work... at least I have been using it without issue but I will check again next time I'm in front of my backend.

Have you checked your log files for anything suspicious when searching for meta data?

Hi, just updated my imdb.pl script with the one from your blog. I'm still not getting Hi-res covers when fetching from IMDB. Doesn't it work any more?

@Uzair The rating issue seems to be apparent in the IMDB script supplied with MythTV too. I'll check it out when I get a moment. As for the "misses the move" issue - the script will only download data / display options for a move that is returned from an IMDB search based on the video's filename. If your movie is named incorrectly or IMDB can't find a match then you get the option to enter an IMDB number directly. I'm not sure there's is much that can be done about this.

Thanks the comments.

Thank you so much for this! I'm building my own mythbox and really wasn't impressed with the script for getting posters. The quality sucked! I haven't tried the script yet but will shortly.

Thanks but this needs updating. It does not pull all data. Misses on user ratings, and sometime totally misses the movie and one has to supply the imdb # to pull the data.
